In-line ignition around since the 1800s but reapplied on modern muzzleloaders. Flintlocks ignite a small charge, which then ignites a more significant charge through vent-hole. Hammer strikes a cap on the caplock system to cause ignition. In-Line System Action The action of a muzzleloader can be categorized as break, bolt, plunger, or drop action.

In my opinion, these are the most accurate yet highest devastating bullet I can find for my Knights. The problem is, it seems that Barnes has them out of stock for the last two years.Feb 3, 2022. #2. All kidding aside I believe the WMC is one of those sleeper bargains. The first couple years the 50 Caliber had a 1:20 twist then TC changed it to 1:38 twist. If you use powder loads over 90 gr. a wad would help keep the heat off the shotcup. Most shotcups like sabots are made to withstand the heat/pressure of powder ignition. You will get 5 bullets in the sizing pack. Starting at .500 and going up to .504. Find out which one fits your bore and then order the bullets in the appropriate size in the weight you want or you can order a sample weight pack then a shoot them and find out which one your rifle likes. You don't shoot the sizer bullets.
The 'cooler' 209's were designed to help eliminate the 'crud ring' that will sometimes develope with the use of T7 powder. Probably the best 209 for BH is the Federal 209A primer. A CCI 209M will work well also but it can come apart in some non-approved breech plugs. B.

FWIW, I've had a Tasco Pronghorn 3-9X32 rifle scope on my .54 Cal Thunderhawk for over 20 years. This is my main hunting rifle. It's still working as designed. I think the main issue with rifle scopes on a muzzleloader is eye relief. I don't have any issues with my scope.

They all leaked and a 300 grain Pittman pushed by 72 grains of H4198 disintegrated my primer. I changed those three guns to Hankins ignitions and all the ones I built since are Hankins.
