If you don't mind staying on Captiva, you can make reservations at Tween Waters Resort. Traffic can be very slow moving on the island. Most communities and businesses are moving forward to rebuild. Sanibel residents are a resilient bunch and love their island. They will rebuild. Private contractor barges are allowed on the island beginning today and I'm sure the island is hopping with workers who are there to begin the clean-up and remediation.

Save. Yes, Island Inn has 16 rooms available and they are the only place open on Sanibel. Tween Waters in Captiva is also open. We just returned from a several night stay at Island Inn. There is no pool or food, of course. They do put out beach umbrellas and it's self-serve as far as dragging the beach chairs to where the umbrellas are set up.
