Here he gets to play all day with other dogs, frolicking, and everyone knows his name. Instead of keeping the animals in cages all day bored and lonely the staff here interact with them and the dogs have a big room to play in.

Unfortunately, Chet Huntley, a smoker, died of lung cancer on March 20, 1974 - shortly after the resort opened and just three days before the official opening ceremony for Big Sky. Following Huntley's death in 1974, Boyne Resorts purchased the resort in 1976. The rest is history. Chet Huntley's legacy surrounds Big Sky to this day.
